Melissa is a Physical Therapist who is a Certified Hand Therapist and has over 25 years experience as a physical therapist evaluating and treating a variety of musculoskeletal orthopedic injuries. She has gained additional expertise in managing upper extremity conditions and is certified through the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC). She is presently pursuing a doctoral degree from Texas Woman's University and has recently published an article in the Journal of Hand Therapy.
As a hand therapist, Melissa can evaluate and treat any problem relative to the upper extremities. She effectively treats and rehabilitates patients through postoperative rehabilitation, preventative, non-operative, or conservative treatment, or industry consultation.
Melissa works closely with physicians and patients to provide a continuum of care. This often starts within days of the injury or surgery right through to the patient's return to work and/or a productive lifestyle.
